BLE Lighting & Power Ltd worked with a leading fashion retailer to provide the emergency lighting power within their new-build distribution centre.
A multinational clothing-retail company with over 5000 stores, required an emergency power system designing from scratch for their brand new, state of the art UK distribution centre.
The new distribution centre features newly increased capacity and technological foundation to meet the demands of customers, who have been identified by the brand to increasingly choose to stop with them in an omni-channel way; requiring flexible distribution both to stores and direct to customers.
To support this, a smart DALI lighting system was chosen in the initial project design. Our task was to design a central emergency power system which would seamlessly integrate during a power failure. Over 800 personnel are located within the facility; highlighting the need for a reliable emergency lighting system that will ensure the safety of the workforce.
Our technical experts installed 68 assorted static inverter systems (ranging between 400w and 5.5KVA) into the distribution centre, and then adapted them to become bespoke for the purpose of connecting to the DALI lighting system.
We worked alongside Smart Systems, a lighting specialist for F.M customers, who have been in the emergency sector since 2000, from initial project design through to handover to the customer.
Although the requirements changed at various times throughout the project we were happy to assist and re-design throughout and advise on any technical queries and questions regarding legislation using our 50 years of experience within Emergency Lighting and Emergency Power.
